Handmade by a self-help group of lady weavers from Kenya.
A kiondoo is a handwoven basket made from sisal and sometimes mixed with other materials. It is indigenous to the Kikuyu and Kamba tribes of Kenya. These Kenyan weavers begin by stripping the Sisal plant's outer layers, leaving the plant still able to grow. After drying them out for a day, the weaver uses threads from the pale coloured layers to make a basket.
